what is THE SUNSHINE PROJECT?

Established in 2022 by the Fuquay-Varina Junior Woman’s Club, The Sunshine Project sends snacks and shelf-stable meals to 17 local elementary, middle and high schools monthly. These donations help to feed students ages 5-18 who face food insecurity at home. The items are kept in sunshine-yellow bins in each school’s office and can be accessed discreetly by students.

How can i support this cause?

We’re glad you asked! There are many ways to raise awareness of The Sunshine Project and help us keep it going!

Our Amazon Wish List is a quick and easy way to purchase food and have it sent directly to our club to be distributed to Fuquay-Varina schools.

Make a tax deductible donation to FVJWC and specify “Sunshine” in the memo. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Each school’s monthly delivery amounts to ~$100!

Spread the word! Share this link on your social media pages, in your Bible study, with your colleagues, etc. As awareness grows, so will the impact of this project!

DID YOU RECEIVE A SUNSHINE DISPlAY IN YOUR YARD?

How exciting! Your yard was nominated by a local friend. Simply displaying these sunshines is helping to spread awareness of The Sunshine Project. You now have the opportunity to support local students and send the sunshines found in your yard to the location of your choice! Click here to read about next steps for Sharing Sunshine!
