Scholarships

Each year, we award a $1,500 one-time scholarship to a senior in high school who plans to attend a college or university in North Carolina. The scholarship is named in honor of Sallie Southall Cotten, the Founder of the North Carolina Federation of Women’s Clubs.

The selected student will not only receive a scholarship from our club but will also be eligible for the District VI Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship. Should this student win at the district level they will then be considered for the GFWC-NC Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship competition.
